Limited Edition Brigitte Leman Self Portrait Gittchen Doll #185

Here is the adorable Gittchen, a 23 inches tall 2001 sitter vinyl doll by Brigitte Leman from For My Mom from Heart and Soul. Made in Germany.

The doll in the wreath of flowers is Brigitte Leman’s self-portrait as a child. She was inspired by the recollection of a summer’s day during her childhood. “One morning I awoke early. Barefoot and in my nightgown I ran out into the garden behind our house to pick flowers for a bouquet. On tiptoes, I brought it to my mother’s bed and whispered: For you, Mom.”

Gittchen is dressed in a white crinkled cotton ruffled nightgown with red cross stitched details at hems and hand embroidered flowers. The nightgown ties at the back with red braided thread. Her long knickers are white crinkled cotton and she’s barefoot.

Slight discoloration on dress pictured can be dry cleaned. Doll head, face, arms and legs are pristine vinyl. We unbraided her human hair for her photo shoot. She’s hand painted and hand crafted.
